Managed by the ORC - Victoria - Inc. this website provides many valuable resources intended to help Victorian's engage in the outdoors. As well as helping raise the profile of a diverse range of organisations, activities and outcomes associated with the outdoors, we hope the site enables open communication and contributes to many new networks and partnerships among those already involved.

Severe Weather

The Guidance Note 'Management of Outdoor Activities for Severe Weather Conditions' is now available.

It provides guidelines for planning issues such as 'severe weather sites' and 'trigger points' as well a specific action for bushfire, thunderstorms, severe wind, lightning strikes and more.

The Victorian Adventure Activity Standards are under continual review but have just undergone a separate review of their layout, formatting, usability and content, Click on the picture to be taken to the AAS pages.

A key function of the ORC - Victoria - Inc. is to provide networking and capacity for outdoor practitioners to act efficiently and collaboratively on important issues. To do this we have close working relationships with the following vital member organisations;

ACA growing.jpg The Australian Camps Association has been assisting the residential camping, outdoor recreation and education community by providing information, resources, services and training to users and operators since 1983. Tourism Alliance is focused on developing an increasingly dynamic tourism industry in Victoria. Its strong and diverse member base gives the organisation a state-wide perspective on all issues affecting Victorian tourism, as well as a precise understanding of specific local requirements.

Essential services provided by the BOM include weather warnings for Victoria, a range of local, district and state level forecasts, flood warnings and charts as well as a wide range of educational resources to help with your planning.
